Fishing Competition - TIME CHANGE
To fit in better with the tide, we have decided to change the time of the fishing competition to 9am - 12pm. Prize-giving will follow at 1.30pm at Coroglen Tavern. Thanks for all of the entries that have been received. If you would still like to enter, please have your permission slip and entry fee back to Miss Upsall by Friday. Bait will be supplied (thanks to Kylie K & OPC). Looking forward to seeing you all there on Sunday!
If the weather is bad – we will postpone the fishing competition and will let everyone know via the phone tree no later than 8.30 on Sunday. If the weather is looking very bad on Saturday we will make the call then and make contact.

Year 5-8 Camp – I am awaiting final confirmation from Rotorua. I hope to hear by tomorrow and I will send home details and a date for a camp meeting. At this stage all 6 parent helper positions are taken. Thanks to those who volunteered their help.
Fair Go Ad Awards – We have almost completed two ads which have been researched, written, acted and directed by our year 5-8 students, under the watchful eye of Kuika Illingworth who has been a fabulous mentor for our budding performers. The two ads will be posted to our website in the next few days.
Tomorrow we will have to decide which one we will send in to Fair Go as our school entry.
Building projects – We have a wonderful new gazebo at the back of our school with the concrete being laid today. Work has also started at the front of the school with the pathway and garden.
Daylight Savings - It begins again on Sunday 25 September 2011 (when clocks go forward one hour). This can be a difficult adjustment for some children (and adults).
End of Term 3—Friday 7th October. School will be closed for 2 weeks and Term 4 begins on Tuesday 25th October.
Hats– all children need to wear sun hats that will protect their face, head and neck from the sun, during Term 4. We have school hats but children sometimes keep a spare hat at school.

PET DAY – Wednesday the 5th of October- We would like any contributions to the grocery raffle and the white elephant please. We also need volunteers for the sheep shearing and the dung drop.
Bridge Hold Up- The bandits had a very successful afternoon at the Coroglen Bridge and raised $2089.90 which will make a dent in the price of the camp. Thank you to Kylie Kahotea, Jessie, Kale, Kerry, and to Kelly and Johnny @Monrad Excavators for donating the lollies. All up the Fundraising Group have given us $4089.90 towards camp including $600 which has been earmarked for parents petrol costs. You are stars.
Year 5-8 Senior Camp – 7-9th November – Two nights and three days. I will be calling a meeting for parents early next week when details are finalised and we have firm bookings. There are still one or two who haven’t indicated whether they will be coming or not.
Jump Rope – We are having our jump off next Friday the 30th of September. Sponsor forms are with this newsletter.
Coroglen School Vege Garden – We have vegetables going to seed. Please feel free to pick our veges. We will be replanting in a week or two.
COROGLEN SCHOOL FISHING COMPETITION – Please see overleaf the permission slip for the fishing completion. Sounds like a lot of fun. I am looking forward to the hard luck – the one that got away stories.
