Hello / Kia Ora

The knockout tournament teams still need to be finalized, but we will contact everyone to confirm who is playing. Any queries, please contact Teresa on 866 4147 or 021 0221 7860.

Annual Trail Bike Ride – This Sunday 2nd March. We still need about three more people to help in the food stall. Thank you to everyone who has returned your volunteer slips, and those able to help out. – Fiona Illingworth

Country Schools Swimming was held yesterday at the MBAS. All the children performed extremely well, and were all well behaved. It was a fantastic day for everyone. Thank you to the parents who attended and helped out with supervision.
Congratulations team!

Peninsula Central Swimming will be at MBAS on Monday 3rd March. We will be in contact with the parents of those children who have qulaified for this event.

Life Education Trust – visit is on Tuesday 4th and Wenesday 5th March. The junior room children will be studying a unit focused on “Getting on together” and the senior room children will be studying a unit focused on “Making the right choices”.
A gold coin donation would be appreciated to help cover the cost of this very good health education opportunity.

Mathletics – a reminder the senior class and Year 3s have access to a free trial for Mathletics until this Friday 28th February. Children are able to access the website from home. Jenny is keen to continue this programme this year. Your opinion as to the worth of this programme is appreciated. Please comment on your survey sheet.

Consultation survey – Please find this document attached, take a few minutes to read, respond and return it to school.  Your input will help us to better meet your child’s needs.

Head Lice – Have come to visit again. Please check hair and treat as necessary.  If you are having difficulty getting on top of this problem the school nurse can be of assistance and is happy to advise.

Project Energize- Briar worked with both classes today looking at the four fabulous food groups.  Ask your children what they remember and how many servings they need to make them “Go, Glow and Grow!”

Lawn fees and Stationery-
Thank you to those who have already paid these accounts.  One or two are becoming quite overdue and significant amounts. No further stationery will be issued to some families at this time. Lawn fees are a donation and as such are tax deductible.

Miss Anderson update – At this time Penny is still in Waikato hospital and tests continue to try and diagnose the cause of her illness.  The staff and board are working together to ensure school programmes continue as smoothly as possible in her absence.  We will keep you informed as more information comes to hand. Penny wished to thank everyone for their support, especially the many kind invitations extended to Antonio.

Have a fantastic week

Hello / Kia Ora

Welcome to Noah Pritchard  (5years), and Laila Dunn (5years) who both join the junior room. J

Farewell to Mason Campbell who has moved to Hamilton and Mateo & Aliza Niclas who have gone to Whenuakite School.

BOT – meeting next Tuesday 18th February at the school from 5pm.
Everyone is welcome. We are keen to recruit new parent representatives as Nikki Colville is no longer on the board, and Rowan will be leaving in June which leaves our Board numbers very low. Becoming a school trustee could be one of the most rewarding roles you have. Being a school trustee is an important role that needs people with a range of skills and experiences, who believe in making a positive difference to our children’s learning. If you would like to find out more, please ring the school on 866 3850.

Bible in School – Bible lessons in class will be starting in March. If for any reason you would like your child excused from bible, please send a note to the teacher. They can then start school at 9.30am on Tuesday mornings.

Tag Rugby –  Last scheduled game is on Monday 17th Feb.
6pm      Coro Babes vs Bay Rippas
6.40pm Coro Glen vs PD Boys
See you all there!

Stationery accounts – Due to the large number of new enrolments and stationery purchases Mrs. Rhodes has not been able to complete the accounts. Expect them with next week’s newsletter.

Fundraising – Welcome to the new parents. We will be having a meeting in mid March (date to be confirmed)  to discuss our plans for the upcoming year. Your input and ideas will be most welcome and appreciated. – Fiona Illingworth

Annual Trail Bike Ride – Our trail ride is on Sunday 2nd March. We need volunteers to help with Parking, Wardens, & in the Food Stall. Please complete the form below and return to the school asap. – Fiona Illingworth

Coroglen Horse Trek – This is coming up on the 29th March. More info on how you can help will be in the newsletter closer to the Trek.

Whiti Fun Run – On the Robinson Reserve on Sunday 23rd February to raise funds for the Mercury Bay X Ray machine. Open to individual and relay teams – this sounds like a lot of fun. Attached is the information and entry form.

Phone tree – We have attached an updated phone tree list. Please let us know if your phone numbers are incorrect. Also if there are any changes to your emergency contacts please let us know as these sometimes change.

Hello / Kia Ora

Welcome back to school everyone. We have had a good start and we are looking forward to a fresh year setting and achieving positive goals.

Welcome to Reo McQueen (5years), Taylah Mathews (7years) and Sage Manukau (5years) who all join the junior room. J

Swimming – both the junior and senior students are swimming every day for the next 4-5 weeks.
Please help children to remember their swimming gear every day. If they can’t take part in swimming, they
will need a note from home excusing them.

Year 7 & 8 Technology starts this Friday 7th February. Year 7 & 8 children will travel to MBAS at 10.50am and return to Coroglen by 2pm.
Please note that Technology times are different this year as Technology classes start at 11.25am and finish at 1.30pm.
All children will need to wear closed shoes to Technology.

Absences – Please notify the school before 9am if children are absent. Phone 866 3850 and leave a message if the phone is not answered. We check our messages often.
Please give the name of your child who will be absent from school and the reason for the absence (sick, family reasons, doctor/dentist appointments etc).
This is a safety measure for child health & welfare. If the absence is not reported our teachers will contact each family to find out why the child is absent.

Lawns fees – these are now due for 2014. For one child at the school the Lawn fees are $30 for the year. For two or more children at the school the Lawn fees are $60 for the year.

Stationery – We still have some stationery accounts outstanding from last year. These amounts will be added to your child's account at the school along with outstanding lawns fees from 2013 and will be coming home next week.
These accounts are sent home regularly. To avoid accruing large amounts of credit over time it is advisable to pay when you receive the account.

Gardens – Our gardens were looking beautiful at the end of the year, however we have lost our gardener, and the weeds have taken off over the summer. If you can spare an hour or even half an hour to pull the weeds from the garden please come down whenever you can. If we all do a little bit, it will make a big difference.

Newsletters by email – if you or a grandparent would like to receive our school newsletters via email, please email [email protected] and register for newsletters to be emailed out.

Tag Rugby –  Monday 10th Feb
6pm      Coro Babes vs Young Guns
6.40pm Coro Glen vs Cooper Tyres
Monday 17th Feb
