Newsletter, Term 2, Wk 8

Hello / Kia Ora

NZ World War 1 Memorial Forest Planting
Coroglen School representatives at the WW1 memorial forest planting last week were Caitlyn, Stormi, Bianca, Riley-Jean, Christina and Hayley. A big thank you to Amy Hodge, who drove everyone out to Cathedral Cove.

Winter Sports – Y4-8
Don’t forget children need to wear sneakers and the appropriate clothing every day. We only have two weeks left of training. Winter Sports are on Tuesday 23rd June.

Entrance Garden
Our entrance garden is being transformed by Kylie Williger who has been beavering away at it over the last couple of weeks.  Kylie has removed all the old top soil which was full of a dreaded weed, and laid down weed mat and a thick layer of clean top soil to make future weeding easier. If you can help weed one of the many areas at the school, please come down anytime and get stuck in or come to our working bee this Saturday from 9am. Many hands make light work.

Wanted: guinea pig babies. Please contact Kylie on 027 949 7946.

Stationery Accounts
Please find attached your stationery accounts. We had a great response after last month’s accounts went out, so many families will only have small accounts this month.

Nits
We have had an outbreak of head lice at the school. Local soap maker Lisa Peehikuru has researched ingredients for a kids head lice shampoo bar made using natural ingredients. You can use the low allergy shampoo bar daily. It is mild and good for all hair types and leaves your hair shiny and strong. Ingredients are olive oil, coconut oil, almond oil, neem oil, castor oil, lanolin, bentonite clay, essential oils of tea tree, cedarwood, cinnamon leaf, geranium &eucalyptus. She has sent her first batch to us to trial and is keen to get any feedback on the product, so we are sending one bar home to each family at our school. Feedback can be emailed to soapplus@hotmail.com

ERO visit
ERO are visiting our school next Tuesday and would like to meet and talk to parents on Wednesday 17th June from 2.30pm. If you wish to comment but are unable to attend this meeting, you are welcome to leave a comment for Ann Roberts and Libby Waldron by emailing ann.roberts@ero.govt.nz or writing your comment out and leaving it at the school.

Have a wonderful week, from Penny and the team.
