Pet
Day
The children have been given guidelines for their pet day diaries or
projects which they should have all started working on. If you would like more
information about these, please come and see us at the school.
Preparations for fundraising activities for the day are well on the way
now. Jacinta O’Donohue is the co-ordinator of Pet Day this year. If you haven’t
already got a job…you will probably be hearing from her soon.
If you would like to have a stall at Pet Day selling your own products
or produce…please get in touch with Hazel on 021 924 841.
This year we are introducing some new categories. Best fancy dress pet,
best fancy dressed owner or best fancy dressed owner & pet as well as best
trick by a pet. We look forward to judging these categories.

Kyla's Scrapbook
The children have been working on a scrapbook for Kyla Ngarium which Jenny took up to the hospital last weekend. It was jammed packed with pictures of Kyla during her years at Coroglen School. Kyla was so pleased with her scrapbook and said "it was her best ever gift". Thank you to all our children who put in their time and effort to make Kyla's Scrapbook such an amazing account of her time at Coroglen School.

Head lice and worms in the school
The time has come to be checking heads for lice and treating accordingly.
Please keep children home until the infestation time is over.
It has also been reported
some of the children at our school have had worms. At this time of year with
pet day approaching we urge the children to wash their hands thoroughly after
handling animals and using the toilet, to minimise infection. If you suspect
your child has worms please go to the chemist for treatment.
Senior
Rotorua Trip
We are still waiting for the return forms from five children before we
can confirm the date and cost of this trip. We will have more information about
it in next week’s newsletter.
Cover
Up
From now through to the end of April our school policy states all
children who want to play outside must wear a hat that will offer protection to
the neck, ears and face. We recommend broad brimmed or bucket style hats.
Nearly 80% of lifetime sun exposure happens before they age of 18, so it’s
important to make sun protection a life-long habit, starting as young as
possible.
New
