Newsletter, 2012 term 2, week 3

Anniversary of Coroglen SchoolOur School will be 116 years old on Sunday the 20th of May. We are planning a grand unveiling of our new entrance way on the afternoon of Monday the 21st of May. We have some lovely mosaics which have been made by past students to position as well as the planting of the new gardens. Some work is still continuing but we hope to have this completed weather permitting.

Two reviewers from the Education Review Office will also be arriving at school on that afternoon. I am sure they will be interested to meet you. Watch for an update next week.

Mothers’ Day – This Sunday is Mothers’ Day and a good time to spoil your mum. Great work Mums.

clip_image001School Photos the school photos will be taken next week — on Monday 14th May. The pre-paid envelopes came home on Monday. Each child has been given a named order envelope.

Please read these carefully and return them to school before Friday 11th May if you are buying a class photo or photo pack. We have a few spare envelopes at the staffroom. The sealed envelopes are given to the photographers on the day. We do not open the envelopes and any change will be given on the day of the photos.

An additional special envelope is required for family photos and these can be picked up from the staffroom. (Pre-schoolers can be included in the family photos)

At this stage I understand that the photographers will be at our school at 8.50 and will leave around 10am.

Teacher Only Day – This is still on Friday the 1st of June which will give families a four day Queen’s Birthday weekend. The staff will be revising our report forms. If you have any thoughts please let us know.

clip_image003SCIENCE WEEK – The seniors have been doing science experiments this week. We have bought some interesting ingredients for this work. Please ask your children about their experiments.
