Hello / Kia Ora

Hat Policy
To keep sun-safe this term, everyone needs a sun hat and to cover up with sunscreen before coming to school. We can reapply the sunscreen at lunch time. It is best if hats are named and stay at school.

House to Let
3 bedroom Lockwood house to let, close to Coroglen School. Available after 4th November.  Phone/txt 021 0254 4170.

ShakeOut
Last Thursday our school took part in New Zealand ShakeOut 2015 with over 1.36 million other Kiwis. Miss Anderson walked through the school banging on a tambourine imitating an earthquake while the children in the junior and senior rooms did the drop, cover and hold. The children then followed up making posters and doing other activities.

Senior Rotorua Trip
Information came home last Friday about the activities planned for the Rotorua trip in November. If you did not receive a copy, please let us know so we can send one home to you.

The fundraising committee have offered to subsidise each child to the amount of $200 for the Rotorua trip and the BOT have agreed to this expenditure.

The cost for each child will be $175.50. Payments can be made into our bank account Coroglen School BOT 03-1578-0036880-00. Please put your child’s name in the reference section. Or payment can be made at the school office. For those parents who have paid their $50 deposit, remaining balance is $125.50.

This cost covers 3 nights’ accommodation, 3 continental breakfasts, 3 packed lunches, 2x 2 course dinners, Skyline Rotorua & 2 luge rides, Mitai hangi & concert, Rainbow Springs & Big Splash, Waimangu Volcanic Valley & boat trip, Polynesian Spa, Buried Village, Wingspan and Mt Tarawera Tour. Because we have booked as a school, we have received a very generous discount off what it would normally cost to do everything we are doing.

The teachers will be calling a meeting next week for all the parents who are planning to go to Rotorua, to outline the costs involved.

Fundraising Committee Meeting
There is a Fundraising Committee Meeting this Friday 23rd October after school in the school library, to finalise Pet Day and look for volunteers for the BBQ & drinks fundraising at Athletics Day on Wednesday 4th November. If you are not able to be at the meeting, but would like to help, please ring Amy on 866 3134.

BOT meeting
Next BOT meeting will be Tuesday 27th October in the staff room at 3.15pm. All welcome.

Labour Weekend
The school will be closed on Monday 26th October for Labour Day. School will resume on Tuesday 27th October.

Have a fantastic week - Penny and the team
