Newsletter - Term 1 Number 6

Greetings / Kia Ora

School Trips

The senior students returned after their latest adventure tubing down the Waiwawa. Thanks to all those who helped with transport and supervision. I hope the bruises are not too bad. Special thanks to Gemma for her inspiration and once again sharing River Glen with us.
The junior students had a wonderful day viewing the Scarecrows, picnicking at the macadamia orchard before having a swim at Hahei. The junior room scarecrow won the popular vote for a children’s entry. Thanks for sharing your prize, the macadamias were delicious.
Senior Trip, Year 5-8 - Rotorua – Planning for this is well underway. The focus for this trip is the volcanic plateau and the obligatory adrenalin rush activities that Rotorua is so famous for. I should have a costing by next week.

Swimming

Tia Ngarimu, James Arthur and Nikau Illingworth have won places in the Peninsula East team to compete in the Thames Valley swimming meet. We wish them well for next Wednesday.
Coroglen Swimming Carnival – Every year we showcase your children and what they have learned. This year it will be on the 18th of March at 1.35.

School Website

We are launching our school website at www.coroglenschool.co.nz . We will be loading content over the next week and the newsletter will also be published weekly.
Most families have given permission for their child’s work and or images to be published. If you do not want your child to be part of our website please call and let us know by the Friday the 11th of March.
Special thanks to Seba who has been the driving force behind this website. He has spent time creating it as well as training us up so we can use it.

Life Eduction Trust

The ‘Life Education Trust’ trailer will be at school on the 21st and 22nd of March. We will be building on what we have learned in previous years and reinforcing the positive messages that are part of this worthwhile programme.

BOT Meeting

This will be held on Wednesday the 16th of March at 3.15 at school. All are welcome to attend.

Firewood

We are looking for more firewood to keep us warm in the winter. If you have a fallen tree that would be good for burning this year can you please call the school and let us know.

Fundraising Committee Meeting

There will be a fundraising committee meeting held in the school library at 3.10 on Wednesday the 16th of March.

Maths - Junior Room

As part of their maths programme the Juniors are looking at graphing and statistics. Can you please help us with our data collection?

Have a great week everyone.
