Newsletter - Term 1 Number 9

Hello, Kia Ora

CONGRATULATIONS to Sean and Ben Smith for winning trophies at the Hot Water Beach Surf Life Saving Club. Ben won ‘Best Overall 9 Year Old’, even though he had only been 9 for 1 day. He was also ‘Most Improved’. Sean won ‘Best Overall 6 year Old’. Stella McQueen also won ribbons for beach racing. Well done.

WHITIANGA PIGHUNTING PRIZEGIVING – Congratulations to Riley Jean MacDonald for the third heaviest Junior Boar. Congratulations also to Carter Hodge for the heaviest Junior Boar.

After School Singing Group – Singing lessons may start next term after school for year 5-8 students at Whenuakite School. If you are interested, please call Justine with expressions of interest and days that may suit.

SUSTAINABLE COASTLINES – On Tuesday we will have a visit from a group who are organising clean up events along the peninsula. They will supply everything we need to be safely involved in a ‘clean up’ at Hot Water Beach. Low tide is at 2.30pm so we will need to be at the beach at about 1pm. Please complete the permission slip at the end of this newsletter.

Life Education Trust – Thanks to those who have made their donation. Any further gold coins would be gratefully accepted.

THANKS – Thanks to Johnny Monrad and Pete Smith who have been tidying up the firewood for the winter months.

Japanese Student Visit – This was a successful experience for all involved. The students have made some friends and swapped e mail addresses to enable them to keep in touch. I have heard from the Language School how lovely and welcoming our students are.

NETBALL- Fees for the season $30/child. Please pay A.S.A.P to your team manager. Managers please pass fees to Rice when your whole team has paid. YEAR 4 team with Amy, coaching practice Thursday lunch time. Please have shoes on ready to go .YEAR 7/8 team practice starts following Thursday 7th April after school. Has anyone got any netball coaching books from last year if so could you please return to Helen Oram.Thank-you.
