We had a great day with the Westpac Air Ambulance. As top fundraisers Corban Richardson, Jerome Melde, Tyrese Melde and Nikau Illingworth got a ride in the helicopter.

The entire school was lined up as the helicopter landed and the draft from the helicopter was tremendous. All the children had an opportunity to get close to the helicopter and ask questions of the pilots.

Thanks to Brooke Reynolds from the Westpac for her fabulous support and encouragement.

But wait there is more – the competition that keeps giving – We have a visit in term four from a mystery sportsperson. I wonder who???

Whitianga Library Presents – Craig Smith who wrote “The Wonky Donkey’ will be performing live for pre-schoolers and junior students on Thursday the 8th of September at 10 am to 10.40 am in the TOWN HALL. Please bring a gold coin donation. I have attached a permission and transport form at the end of this newsletter.

PET DAY

Pet day will be on Tuesday the 4th of October. This is the last week of term 3. I know some children who are already getting to know their calves. We will be canvassing the children in the next few weeks to get an idea of what pets we will have for pet day. This is our major school fundraiser and showcases our great little school to our wider community.

School Field

Last weekend Saturday soccer was played at our school. I have had very positive feedback about our school from families who were here.

Words of Wisdomimage

Warren Buffett is the world’s second or third richest man (depending on your reference) second/third only to Bill Gates. He has donated $31 billion to charity and definitely walks his talk.

It is worth a search to find out more about this interesting character.

Westpac Helicopter Visit -Good news - I'm pleased to confirm that the Westpac Waikato Air Ambulance will visit your school at 12.30 on Friday 26 August (assuming there's not an emergency on the day!) They'll have room in the chopper for 4 children to go for a short flight.
Ahead of the visit, a crew member from the base in Hamilton will contact you directly to discuss safety measures.
Fingers crossed for sunny day!
Regards Robyn
