School Swimming Carnival – Well done to all our students who participated in the swimming carnival last Thursday. Congratulations to our Junior Swimming Cup winners, Christina Valdez- Olivet and Sean Smith, and to our Senior Swimming Cup winner Antonio Rupeti Anderson.

Coroglen Charity Horse Trek – WHAT AN AMAZING DAY!!  Thanks to all of the 34 riders who came and supported our first (of hopefully many) horse treks.  It was a great day, enjoyed by all and we have had heaps of positive feedback already.  We managed to raise about $2530, so after expenses (we decided to donate $100 to both St John’s Ambulance and the local branch of the Westpac Helicopter) were left with $2200 raised for the school.  What a great effort!

However, most importantly I just want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to the entire Macdonald family, for the idea of holding the Horse Trek, the use of your beautiful farm and home for the lunch, your support and also being such wonderful guides on the day.  Without you, it wouldn’t have been possible, and we can’t thank you enough for providing such an amazing and successful day for the Coroglen School.  We would also like to thank the Mill Creek Bird Park for their support and use of paddocks, for parking and grazing, Mill Creek Lavender for the grazing, John Mountney for the kind donation of  the portaloo, Norm from Tairua for the hire of his horses, the guides who rode on the day to help everyone keep safe and as always the truly wonderful Coroglen School mums, who helped provide such a scrumptious lunch, that everyone was raving about and still are and a special thanks to those who helped come up on the day to serve the lunch and be part of it all!! We would also like to acknowledge Amy Hodge, who offerd to do the administration work in the weeks leading up to the horse trek. Her organisational skills helped make this day the success it was.  Cheers Kerrie, Amy, Sam, Kylie, Michelle, Sandy and Jeanne and her lovely friends.  Working together with such fabulous people made it easy and a truly awesome, successful event!! CHEERS EVERYONE!

Mercury Bay Watchdog – Come along to the Greenspot Gig at Kuaotunu Hall this Saturday from 6pm onwards. There will be a variety of bands playing from Soul Sax Plus, Kirehe House Band, Dylan Wade and friends plus a line-up of reggae, rock and more bands. Door sales will be available.

Parent interviews – appointment slips will be coming home on Thursday with an accompanying questionnaire to help plan your child’s learning.

Kind regards
Penny and the team.
