Welcome back to term 2 – we hope you all enjoyed your holidays and are ready and looking forward the next 10 weeks. Special welcome to Yui Uematsu who has joined us from Japan.

Important dates for Term 2
Keeping Ourselves Safe – We have started our focus on Keeping Ourselves Safe. Local police education officer, Maryann Kerr will be here next Monday morning and is happy to answer any questions by parents or caregivers.

School Trustee Elections– Our school is governed by a democratically elected group of people called the Board of Trustees. These trustees make important decisions about our school’s strategic direction, student achievement outcomes, resources, staffing and much more.
Becoming a school trustee could be one of the most rewarding roles you have. We are looking for people with a range of skills and experiences, who believe in making a positive difference to our children's learning. If you are interested in standing for election or nominating someone else, please contact the school and request a nomination form if you did not receive one at the end of last term. The electoral roll can be viewed at the school office. Nominations close at noon on Thursday 16 May.

School Photos - Monday 20 May. The pre-paid envelopes will come home next week and will need to be returned by Friday 17 May.

School's Birthday - Coroglen School is turning 117 on the 20th May. We are having a fancy dress day and an afternoon of fun and laughter. After lunch the students will be competing in the Coroglen school Birthday Tabloid Sports. Sausages are available for sale on the day for $2.

Whitianga Garage Sale - We are seeking expressions of support for a Coroglen school garage sale depot in town for the Queen's Birthday event. Do you have any good used treasures that could be sold to raise funds for the School. We have the location and things would need to be delivered to 8 Cobham Lane of the day before the sale. Please complete the slip attached and indicate what sort of things you would like to donate (I need to know how much space to create in my garage).

Scooters - Scooters have become popular again and the children are having a wonderful time on a circut around the court. Due to the number of skaters, all children that want to skate need to have their own helmet from tomorrow. All skaters must also have sturdy shoes. These should not be their best shoes as one will end up being worn through by the braking action.

Mother's Day - Happy Mother's Day to all the hard working mums out there.

Kind regards
Penny and the team.
