Newsletter, Term 3, week 6

Coroglen School Newsletter
Term 3 Number 6
Wednesday 4th September 2013

Hello / Kia Ora

School Fundraiser – The children have been very busy creating some masterpieces for calendars and cards. This is a fundraiser for the school, and will make lovely Christmas gifts for family members. Please see attached form. The price for a calendar is $10, a pack of 8 cards is $12, and a diary is $15. There is an option available for parents to upload a photo of your child/ren and have printed as a calendar, cards or diary. If you are interested in this option, please see Mrs Saunders who will explain the procedure. As we will be selling card sets at Pet Day, we would like to place our order by the end of the week, so please get your orders in by Friday.

Daffodil Day. To celebrate Daffodil Day, we all dressed up in colours of the daffodil, and replicated a human daffodil.

Parachute Fun – Our junior class had fun with Briar last week when she brought in a colourful parachute. The junior room got to lift it, and watch how it filled up the room.

Unfortunately we do not have any photos of the children at the Peninsula Cross Country last week as we have not received any.

Mercury Bay Junior Rugby prize giving was held last Friday to acknowledge our children’s achievements in rugby over the 2013 season. Congratulations to our 5th grade trophy winners James Arthur for best forward and Antonio Rupeti Anderson for most improved player. Congratulations to Leon Melde for best and fairest player in the Coroglen Rippa team.

Bridge Holdup Reminder this is next Friday 13th Sept. If you have not already volunteered for this fun way to raise some funds for the school, and you are able to help out for a few hours, please get in touch with Jessie on 866 3983.

Grocery Hamper raffle We are desperately in need of your contribution for our annual Grocery Hamper raffle. Have a look in your cupboards and see if you have any cans or jars that could be part of our raffle. Please also let the school know if you are available to help sell raffle tickets outside New World next week or following week.

Pet Day – If you haven’t already volunteered for anything at Pet Day, please contact the school as there are still a few positions available. Thank you to those who have already volunteered.

BOT meeting will be held on Monday 9 September at 5.30pm at the school. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Enjoy your week
Penny and the team.
