Newsletter, Term 4, Week 9

Coroglen School Newsletter
Term 4 Number 9
Wednesday 11th December 2013 11/12/13

Hello / Kia Ora

This is the last newsletter for the year. On behalf of the staff, BOT and children I would like to thank you all for your support, involvement and contributions throughout 2013.
Season’s Greetings to everyone. Have a safe and happy holiday.  All the best to those, who are gearing up for the busiest time of the year.

End of year picnic on Tuesday 17th December. We will meet at 10am at the 309 waterhole (about 2.5kms up the 309 Rd - look for the sign).  There is a public toilet there and it is a lovely spot for a fun family day out. Don’t forget the sunscreen.

End of year concert and leavers evening will be on Monday 16th December at the school library. Don’t forget to bring some meat to put on the BBQ, and a salad for our community BBQ before the concert from 4.30pm. The performance will start at 5.30pm.

Pining for Christmas - Hodge Family Tree Farm in now open weekends between 10am-4pm. Give them a call on 866 3134 and get down and tag your tree now.

Stationery accounts Thank you to those families who have paid their accounts. Please endeavour to get these paid before the end of year.

Lawns donations – Thank you to those families who are up to date with their lawns donations. If you are unable to pay this by next week, we will add it to next year’s account.

Fundraising committee – Don’t forget to keep Saturday 1st March free on your calendar. We will do a roster up next year for the volunteers.

Library Books – Last days to return your library books.

School Attendance – attendance is important. Your child’s learning is scaffolded on what they know already on work they have learnt the day or weeks before and need to be at school unless they are sick.
By law they are required to attend unless they have a reason for being absent.

There are times when teachers need to get away after school for appointments and meetings. We need warning or notification if you are unable to collect your child at 3pm.

Wanted to Rent – 2 bedroom+ house in Coroglen area. Please phone Shokujo on 027 3638 422.

Farewell and good luck to Shriya, who leaves us on Friday to move to Australia. We wish you and your mum all the best in your future endeavours.

Good luck also to our year 8s James Arthur, Alana Howat, Liam McQueen and Hannah Parry who will be attending Mercury Bay Area School next year.

Enjoy your summer holidays, be good and we will see you all back at school revitalised for another year on Thursday 30th January 2014.

Best wishes to you all at Christmas and the New Year!
Penny and the team
