Consultation Forms – Please return the
consultation forms sent out last week ASAP.
We
also need the Bible in class forms to be returned to the school this week.
Annual across the
river swim
– This is open to Year 7 & 8 children and will be held on Wednesday 12th
March (Friday 14th March). Students will cross the river on the ferry
from 11am, they will then be directed to an area where they will enter the
water and swim back across the estuary. The swimming event is closely
supported/supervised
with boats supplied by Hot Water Beach Surf Life Saving, Whitianga Coastguard,
Whitianga Harbourmaster, Dive HQ, MBAS staff and parents supporting in kayaks.
Low tide is at 10.45am; the expected time when the first group will cross is after
11.10am. We will need to leave school at 10.30am. As this is a water activity,
please complete the attached permission/transport slip.
Tag Knockout
Tournament
– Remember the knockout tournament and end of season prize giving is this
Saturday 8th March at the Rugby Club.
For those
who are playing on either Coroglen Team in the Tag Rugby tournament this
Saturday it will start at 9am sharp—so it would be great for teams to aim at
getting there about 8:30 am.
The games
will go for most of the day so please bring lunch and plenty to drink.
Prize giving will follow at about 5pm. Thanks everyone we are looking
forward to it, see you all there.
School Pool – We have had an
incident over the weekend when Jessie discovered parts of nappy filling in the
school pool when she was cleaning it. This can cause serious problems with our
filtering system, as well as being very unhygienic. Please make sure your
toddlers wear the appropriate swimming nappies when swimming in the school
pool.
School sores – we have had an
outbreak of school sores at the school. Please check your child and if there
are any open sores, take them to the doctor to get appropriate medication and
keep them home until they are cleared to prevent further spreading.
Life Education Trust – The children have been enjoying
their visits to the Life Education Classroom. Pictured are Sashka Highway and
Riely-Jean Macdonald with Harold and Rachel from Life Education Trust.
Mercury Bay Junior Rugby Club Meeting - Reminder
to all Committee members and Coaches, there is a Mercury Bay Junior Rugby Club
meeting held this Wednesday 5th March 2014, in the clubrooms at 6pm.
See you all there. Contact Teremoana by ph 869 5578 or mob 021 1294 626
or by email [email protected] if you are unable to attend.
Trail Bike Ride – A huge thank you
goes to our parents and teachers who worked at the trail ride on Sunday. We had
a fantastic day, perfect weather and lots of happy riders.
We
think we have raised between $2,000 and $2,500 after costs. Well done!
We
will have a fundraising committee meeting next Thursday 13th March.
On the agenda is –
Fundraising
plan for the year
Fund
distribution – working with our school
We
hope to see some new faces as well as our regular ones.
Thank
you – Fiona Illingworth
Congratulations to past pupil Liam
Parry who is head of the MBAS middle school. We are very proud that Coroglen
kids excel in these roles at the Area School.
