Ki-o-Rahi Tournament
The year 7 & 8‘s will be attending the annual Hauraki Schools Ki-o-Rahi Tournament next Thursday 19th June from 9am to 2pm at Rhodes Park in Thames
This event is all about participation, supporting each other, and encouraging fun physical activity through an awesome traditional Maori game.
If you are able to assist with transport to Thames on the day, please fill out the permission and transport slip, and return to the school. We also require a parent who can act as the team representative.

Thank you to the parents who have sent along kindling to start our classroom fires. It makes it easier to get the fires going so we can keep our children warm in the wet winter weather.

MB Gymnastics
Unfortunately we did not have any other offers to help coach, but we have decided that we will go ahead with the wonderful coaches that we do have, but this means for safety reasons there will be very limited numbers. Registration will be on Monday 23rd June in the old MBAS gym from 4pm to 6pm which will be the same day as the sessions will run. As stated – numbers are very limited, so those who have registered their child/ren  and paid the $65 registration fee for term three in full, will be among the first to be confirmed as enrolled. Parent/caregiver participation will be required, so please think carefully before you enrol your child. More information will be provided at registration. Amy Hodge

Phone tree update

We are in the process of updating our phone tree so if you have moved recently, or have a new mobile phone, please let us know in case we need to put the phone tree into action with the winter months upon us.

Request to tie up long hair
We are asking all children who have long hair to please tie it up with a hair tie so they are not struggling to keep their hair out of their faces during the day, and also so we can see their lovely faces. Thank you for your co-operation.

Unity in the junior room
Spot the civil engineer of the future. Yesterday several children in the junior room worked together to build this giant tower. It was a great example of co-operation and working together. Well done everyone!

School closed yesterday
Due to the flooding, and power outage yesterday, the school was closed. A teacher was at the school in the morning to notify any parents who dropped their children off, that the school will be closed for the day. The power outage made it extremely difficult to contact parents as most people have phones which require power to work, and the cell phone network was also down until 2pm yesterday afternoon. We apologise for any inconveniences this may have caused any families.
