Newsletter, Term 1, Wk 5

Hello / Kia Ora

Thank you to Coroglen Tavern
Last week we received an awesome donation from Coroglen Tavern for $362. Last year Michelle offered to donate $1 from each muffin sale to our school, so thank you to all the parents who munched their way through 362 muffins throughout the year. Coroglen Tavern is once again offering the same deal this year, so please support our local tavern by getting a group together and calling in for a great coffee and delicious muffin.

The Thames Valley Swimming Sports will be held on Wednesday 11th March at the Thames Memorial Pool starting at 9.30am. Warm up is at 9am. All the first and second place getters have qualified for this event, we are waiting to see if spaces become available for the third place getters. Sue Barakat is the team manager for our cluster at the Thames Valley Swimming Sports.

Parent Teacher Meetings
During the last two week of this term we are planning to have parent teacher meetings. Your child is welcome to attend these meetings. Because both rooms have more than one teacher, there is some difficulty in time tabling the parent teacher meetings, so with that in mind we are looking at having interviews over several days. Please indicate which days of the week work best for you, and your preference – either straight after school, or up to 4.30pm. We would like to talk about their strengths, interests, areas of need and goal expectations. If we do not hear from you, we will assign you a time.
Coroglen School Swimming Carnival
A reminder our annual swimming carnival is on Thursday 20th March. All parents are welcome to come along. We will also be presenting the swimming cups and the children will be displaying the skills they have been practicing in the pool this year.

Charity Trail Bike Ride Fundraiser
Thank you to our wonderful parent, teacher and community volunteers who turned up on Sunday to help make the day run smoothly. We have been getting some fantastic feedback from the community about the great day they had. Thank you also to the fundraising committee and Craig and Taina who put a lot of time into the planning of this event

Healtheries Competition
Get involved! Help us to win $10,000 in sports gear for our school, delivered by Dan Carter, plus have a chance to win a $1,000 prize pack for yourself! Just buy any two Healtheries Supplements, Teas or Kidscare snacks from Countdown supermarkets during March and swipe your Onecard – the more times you buy, the greater your chances of winning!

Yesterday one of our children fell off her skateboard and landed on her arm. Early reports are that Bianca’s arm is dislocated – not broken and she should be back on deck soon. We are all thinking of you Bianca.

Phone Tree
We have attached the new phone tree. Please check your contact numbers and let us know if there are any further changes.

Mercury Bay Day Camp
This is for 6-13 year olds, at Cook’s Beach, and will be in the first week of the school holidays, immediately after Easter: Wednesday 8th, Thursday 9th and Friday 10th April. There is a limit on the numbers so please register quickly! Forms are attached to the newsletter for those eligible children.

Sushi Orders
Next week Sushi lunches will be back on Tuesdays, until further notice. Please have your orders in by Fridays with the correct change in envelopes. The choices are Salmon, Tuna, Chicken and Vegetarian. All at $5 for a full roll. Cheers Sam =)

Continuing Care Visit
The senior class will be visiting performing at Continuing Care on Wednesday 25th March. More information and transport requests will come home soon. This is a most worthwhile excursion.
