Newsletter, Term 3, Wk 3

Hello / Kia Ora

Cross Country
This will be held on Tuesday 11th August at Whenuakite School and is for the whole school. The Thames Valley Cross Country will be held in Whitianga on Wednesday 16th August for those children who qualify.
We will walk the courses first at 11am, and then the racing begins. Parents are welcome to come and support the children. Racing starts around 11.30am and finishes around 1pm.
We are training every day for this, so children will need clothing and suitable footwear for running games and training.
The children will be wearing the blue Coroglen School T-shirts which need to be washed and returned to the school after the cross country.
If you are able to provide transport to Whenuakite School please fill in the transport slip at the end of the newsletter and return to school as soon as possible so we can organise transport well in advance.

Coroglen Playgroup
For those parents who didn’t see last week’s newsletter, Coroglen Playgroup will have to close down shortly if there is no interest in anyone keeping it going. This means that all the wonderful resources and equipment purchased using Ministry funding will have to be returned. It would be such a shame to see our wonderful little playgroup end as it is also a great way for children and parents to get to know other people in the community and helps build friendships for when your child starts school. If you or anyone you know are interested in joining playgroup, please let the school know.

The Bays Best
Thank you to all the parents and children who turned up at the auditions last Saturday.
It sounds like we have made it through, so if parents could please keep Saturday 15th August free for rehearsals would be wonderful. Justine is trying to get our rehearsal time for the afternoon and will confirm date and time when they have been in touch.

BOT Meeting
Our next MOT meeting is on Tuesday 25th August in the staff room at 3.15pm. All are welcome.

Mathletics
The Year 1 & 2 children have expressed an interest to do Mathletics at home. If you would like to know more about Mathletics or get Jenny to set your child up with an account accessible from home, please ring Jenny at the school. The cost is $22 per child.
