Sparkz Netball Team - Year 6/7

What a fantastic game! You all played your best against Coro 6 with a win 19/5.

Mercury Bay 5th grade junior rugby team scored a massive victory over Hauraki 84-7. James Hunter was back of the day and Jaden Tegg was awarded the best and fairest. Our very own Angus Arthur scored one of the 14 tries.

Mercury Bay 6th grade rugby played against Thames last Saturday. They lost 20-15 in a close fought battle. The best and fairest player was Chance Haddon, the best forward of the day was Dane Matthews and the best back went to Wilson Wolfe. Liam McQueen scored a wonderful try.

Bike Coroglen – In conjunction with KiwiSport we are having a learn to ride programme at school on Thursday afternoons from the 11th of August. Students will need their own bikes and safety gear.

Rotorua Trip – Please support the fundraising for this trip. We have 15 lucky lotto bonus numbers left. It would be good to get these sold before Saturday so we can begin. Thanks to those who have sold these to aunties, uncles, cousins and grannies.

BUGSY MALONE – We have been invited to see this at MBAS on Tuesday the 5th of July at 12 noon. This is just next week so we need to know if you are able to help with transport. We will need to leave school no later than 11.30 to be seated for the beginning of the performance. Please complete the permission and transport form at the end of this newsletter.

Winter Sports Day Year4-8– This is also next week on Friday the 8th of July at Whenuakite School.

· The games are: Football, Rippa Rugby, Netball, Uni Hockey, Inside Games.

· No lunchtime but teams will have 3 free rounds.

· The games start at 10am so we will start with a welcome and assembly on the courts at 9.45am.

· New rounds will start at the beginning of each half hour. A hooter will signal the start/finish.

· We will finish a 2pm with an assembly and presentation for the winning team/s in each section.

Baked Potatoes – Ian McGregor will be selling Baked potatoes - $4-$6 each – depending on filling.

Hot Drinks- for adults are free from the staffroom (self service) or Ian may be selling them too.

Thanks to Terry for fixing the netball hoop. It is 100% better than before.

Thanks also to Fiona for the flax weaving lessons.

School Lunches – Nikki will be doing lunches this week, ordering on Thursday for delivery on Friday. People have asked me to send another list so here it is. The menu is as follows:

Pies $2.50 Sausage Roll $1.80

Hot Chips $2.50 Hamburger $5 add an egg or cheese $6,

Filled Roll $3 Wraps – ham. Salad $5

Toasted Sandwiches -ham, cheese, pineapple, corn$3.50 (50c per extra filling)

Calciyum – banana / chocolate $1-60
