Beach Clean Up Monday 27^th February

Thanks to everyone who returned their slips. We will begin the day with a short presentation at 9am. We will be at the beach for about an hour. There will be no swimming.

Country Schools Swimming Sports– for Years 4-8 are on Tuesday 28 February

The Swimming Sports will be held at Mercury Bay Area School – Westpac Trust Pool on Tuesday 28th February. Postponement Day to be confirmed.

Start time is 10am.

Finish by 2pm

Programme - will follow the Thames Valley sports programme that will be held at Thames on March 21st.

Ages - Age as at 1 January 2012

BOT Meeting—this Thursday, in the staffroom at 3.15pm. All welcome.

The Mercury Bay Junior Rugby AGM

There will be an AGM for The Mercury Bay Junior Rugby on Thursday 1^st March 2012 at the Mercury Bay Junior Clubrooms at 6pm. Contact Teremoana Johansen on 869 5578 for more information. See you all there.

Maths Workbooks

We have been offered some write in Maths workbooks for $13. These are an extra and designed to be used at home. If you would like to buy one please complete the slip at the end of this newsletter.

Letterbox – I have had very positive comments about the recent photo in the Peninsula Post – It is great that learning can be this authentic – problem, design and build.

Student Records – We have been reviewing out student records and have found that we do not have immunisation information on many students. Next week we will be sending home the emergency contact update forms which have a space for immunisation information and permission to administer paracetamol when deemed necessary. Once all the updated sheets are in I will send out an updated phone tree.

Gardens

Thanks to Janine and Sam who spent a morning in the school gardens. They are looking 100% better.

We have some baby palms to pot up for selling at markets etc. If you have surplus small pots please let me know.

Fundraising Committee

This group will be meeting soon and are after some fresh fundraising ideas. Please give this some thought and watch this space for their meeting date.

Sausages – The fundraising group will be selling sausages this Friday. They are $2 each. YUM.
