FREE Fun Family Events Day
Saturday 24th May from 9am to 2pm at the Mercury Bay Multi Sport Park. Most Mercury Bay Junior Football, Rugby and Netball games have been scheduled to play at the sports park on this day. There will also be lots of exciting things to keep you entertained as well as a market day.

Our classes need kindling
Both the junior and senior classrooms desperately need kindling to start the fires each morning.
We are asking each family to bring a bag of kindling to school to get us through the winter.

Visit by Alfredton School
On Monday our school hosted Alfredton School for the day. We had a sharing day with Alfredton. The morning was thrown over to science where the children saw some wonderful examples of pressure using balloons, bubbles and nail beds. The afternoon was given over to musical endeavours when our children became the tutors and lead the visitors in ukulele playing.

Homework
All children will have homework every night. This may be reading, spelling, maths or current events. Current events can be on a local topic or international news.

Lost Property
There is a display of lost property from last term outside the junior room. Please make sure you check the items out before the end of the week. All lost property will be donated to one of the many op shops in town early next week.
Thanks to Jessie for washing all the items of lost property.

El Grego the Magician
El Grego will be performing at Whenuakite School next Tuesday 20th May from 1.40pm for the senior class. Gold coin donation. No pre-schoolers as per magicians request. We will require transport to Whenuakite School to leave Coroglen School by 1.20pm, and returning back to Coroglen after the show ends. Please complete the transport slip.

Bus Safety
Our new Education Officer Catherine Sell will be at school next Wednesday from 10am talking with the children who travel on the buses. I have been very impressed with the behaviour of our pupils on the school bus. They are polite and respectful.
Well done.

After School
It has come to our attention that students are routinely still at school well after 3pm. This is not a problem most of the time if we know about it before hand.  Children who are at school after 3pm need to be supervised please.

Thought of the Week
Something I shared with the senior students this week.
Before we speak  THINK

Is it True?
Is it Helpful?
Is it Inspiring?
Is it Necessary?
Is it Kind?

Have a fantastic week
